Intoxication/Empathic Manipulation: One of his go-to party tricks is to sway the moods of his audience. His spells can have an intoxicating effect on the listener, usually a temporary state of euphoria or lowered inhibition. Typically, effects won't last for more than 30 minutes, and would be weaker/more diluted if cast over larger groups. On his own, Jeff can have a moderate effect on a handful of people. When amped up by other magic users (like his bandmates, back home), he can work a crowd into a frenzy.

Mild Hallucinations: When Jeff's infusing his music with more intoxicating magic, it can have a mild hallucinogenic effect in listeners. These would not be full, all-encompassing visions, but rather the equivalent of enjoying a few grams of shrooms: the world may seem more 'fluid', things seem to move and sway, everything may seem a little more colorful and enchanting... He doesn't control what people might see or how the hallucinatory vibes may manifest, though he may direct the 'mood' to a limited extent. (Basically, he may be able to push things in the direction of good trip or a bad trip, but ultimately, the full effect is dependent on the person experiencing the magic; their mood, clarity, willpower, etc.)

THESE POWERS ARE OPT IN ONLY. He won't cast these spells on anyone without OOC permission and I won't assume they've worked unless you note in your tag that your character is feeling the effects. I'll occasionally include these as an optional flavor in top-levels, and do not take tag-ins as a guarantee that this magic is working unless it's noted in your narrative. Anyway comment here if you're down for more plotting with this kind of magic, and I'll be more likely to reference it in tags with your characters.

(But even if you comment here, I still won't fling this magic at your character without prior discussion anyway etccccc)

Offensive Subjects

None. I'm generally okay with any potentially offensive material coming up in IC interactions, provided it's actually IC and not a reflection of OOC attitudes.

Warnings

Depending on where he is in his timeline (ages 21 and up), Jeff may be dealing with any of the following: demon-induced psychological torture (hallucinations, fugue blackouts, intrusive thoughts), heavy drug and alcohol use, addiction, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and a stay at an inpatient recovery program. I'll always use warnings in the subject line if a tag starts to go into this stuff.

If he's at an earlier point in his timeline (ages 18-20), all of the above is yet to happen, and the only warnings would be for recreational drug and alcohol use.

NOTE: The above subjects are not going to come up in one-off meme threads, unless we've discussed it OOC beforehand. In places like Bakerstreet, I'm going to default to playing him as his happy-go-lucky self. (Unless otherwise stated in the top level.)

You can fight him, but he's a weenie, so it would probably be a very short fight! He's more likely to throw something and then run away.

Minor injuries are always fine; major injuries on a case-by-case basis. Generally not interested in maiming, disfiguring, or character death (temporary or permanent).

Mental/Magic

Mind reading, telepathy, aura reading, dream walking, etc. ALL ACCEPTABLE. Jeff doesn't have any fancy mental wards to keep people out.

Also, depending on his canon point (ages 20-22 ish), characters with mental powers (telepaths, empaths, certain magic users, etc) may be able to sense a demon hitchhiker tethered to him.
